Extensibility | Extended Areas

Once you`ve decided to extend existing view, you might want to have a look at the extended areas extensibility.

These areas allow you to embed your content into the existing page with very limited amount of actions.

For instance, let`s add some functionality to the Item info tab.

To do so, you only need to locate ext:extendedareas section in your editor config and add a section which will describe your extension. The schema definition is the same as for the tab extensions.

If you want to have client side logic or styling, just put this logic into the files associated with the resource group.

And give this group a dependency.

Normally, the areas are located inside the tabs or decks. If you want to trigger initialization process on your extended view, you can associate it with the tab initialize action by registering TabInitialzie extender.

That’s it!
